What Is Architecture

Simple questions like these can cause people to think differently and lead to foggy thoughts. Strangely, no one has ever been able to agree on the exact answer. It is, however, a form art. Frank Lloyd Wright once stated that architecture was the mother of all art. We don’t have the soul of civilization without an architecture. “Architecture can be likened to music, painting, and sculpture, but is there any truth to this comparison? While rhythm; aesthetics; harmony and proportions are clearly common characteristics, what can be done to ensure that these elements are not impeded by a set number of boundaries and limits? It’s not easy. Architecture can be considered art. Architecture is more of a mirror that reflects the ideas of architects. Frank Gehry’s Dancing House is a great example. It makes one wonder how it can stand so well on its own. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Guggenheim museum has a stunning spiral exterior. Frank Gehry’s Walt Disney Concert Hall has a metallic shine that attracts people. Zaha Hadi’s marvellous Heydar Alijev Cultural Centre is also a great example of how she views beauty in architecture.

There are questions that many think about, however. Does architecture merely reflect aesthetics – the art and science of creating beautiful buildings? Does it introduce poetic meaning to buildings? It is the arrangement of buildings according some intellectual system, such as functionalism, classicism, or postmodernism . ” (unwin,2014). It’s a combination of both. The architectural aesthetics of a building are powerful enough to make it a landmark. Visitors aren’t going to be content to simply admire a building’s elevation. In fact, they can snap a picture in seconds and save it for ever. It doesn’t matter how tall a building is; visitors won’t be able to stand in front of it for long periods of time. Instead, they will click a few pictures and have them saved for ever. It is easy to view architecture as a’still object’, like a cupboard. This attitude shows disrespect for all architects and makes them look bad. Architecture is not an object. Architecture is more than a place to shelter and interact. It’s a way to feel safe while you can. This quote (unwin, 2014) adds more. Isn’t this ironic? It is clearer than architecture itself. This definition also perfectly describes the architecture that underlies buildings. It is funny that some people confine architecture to buildings, while at the sametime using it in different contexts – like music – to suggest that something may be more complex and sophisticated than it appears. Some people call themselves “food architect” and this can give a hint to ignorant minds that architecture could refer to beauty, complexity, colors, surfaces, and textures of an object. It denotes the characteristics of an object, the emotions induced by the way it is handled and sorted. It’s also possible to go back in history and see architecture that still exists. It could be represented by an area of land that people used to shelter from the elements and then changed it to suit their needs and goals. This became a way of life.

Lost people, for example, will attempt to survive on an island without a home and make their homes out of the dry, harsh sands. After some time, you will notice that there are many areas with distinct, designated areas. These include areas for food, sleeping and sitting, as well as other functions. This was the birthplace for vernacular Architecture – which is the foundation of architecture. In this instance, dwellings were created by natural instincts, common sense, and the ability to use whatever material was available. It was the identity of a spot. Just like people have names or birth dates and parents, dwellings also have builders, designers, and construction date. The building would form if partitions and walls were placed around these areas. A roof would then be added. Architecture became a profession after survival evolved from a need to survive. As I mentioned in the beginning, many associate architecture with art. They don’t realize the significant differences between the two. While music and paintings can provide a sweet escape to life, architecture can be used as a way of dealing with it. Music and painting are not only infinite in their techniques and methods, but architecture is a complex subject that requires many considerations. It unites science and art, so you can’t control your imagination or reality. Before you draw a line on a plan sheet, consider gravity, building orientation, sun angle and public infrastructure. It’s a transformative way to design for real life, such as shopping, education, and living. It is designed for people who have five senses and need space to practice their various activities. Artists may argue that their art is not able to be understood correctly or convey the desired emotion. But architects can do this with their hands.

They have the ability to control everything, and they can make decisions about anything. Mind tricks have been used in indirect ways to control behavior, behavior, and interaction. Architecture is also a language. Architecture can also be distinguished from other languages by its distinct accents. Each building can have its own unique identity because it can reflect cultures and traditions. The Vatican’s Saint Peter’s Basilica, which is the largest basilica in Rome, represents the Italian Renaissance period. Architecture is a way to express oneself through structures, rather than using words. Architecture is a collection of ideas, beliefs and philosophies that are based on a unique perspective. While architecture may be still considered the production of things, architects view buildings as living organisms that are filled with people and experience. Each building’s walls have seen many memories and will see more.
